Learning from the Master… Day 4 #100days

Happy Friday to you

Thank you again to all of you who made comments about yesterdays blog – The Ripple Effect, today I have been experiencing just how much just trying to do something out of your comfort zone can lead you and others to have a go.  I have had a few people wanting to start their own blogs and I think that’s a brilliant idea.  Once you commit to starting something make it public then you have much more enthusiasm to actually achieve it.

Believing in the Law of Attraction also helps, what you put out there you get, so put out that you want to achieve something and as if by magic you will.

So please people if blogging is your way forward get started I can’t wait to read your stuff.

Today I am going to chat briefly about learning things.  I always thought I was thick, because at school I was labelled and probably a complete lack of confidence held me back from learning certain things.  However that’s not what this is about.

My message today is that once you know what it is you want to learn and start thinking about it the master will appear –

you may have hear this quote … “When the student is ready,  The master appears ”

Well it turns out that this particular student (me) of sailing up the Cut was ready for a master class in boating.  I got the boat last year and did learn how to steer and control it, but I was really keen not to keep looking like a complete fool when mooring and turning the boat around.  So here is John Gibbons (below) who has now become a great friend of mine, he offered to go out on Felly Fore and give me some tips.

It all went swimmingly well (not literally thank goodness), until the part of mooring – It was one of those moments when the Master really wanted to take the helm and do it himself.  But I said “No, I really have to learn this for myself”…. I was astounded at my confidence – I knew that eventually I would get the angle of the dangle right and moor up. –

I felt the pain of the Master (who actually was the water speed record holder on Windermere) who patiently let me make my mistakes…….

I am so glad I did, because now I have a really good understanding of how to get that boat into it’s mooring.

If I had given up and let John bring her in I would be no better off now

Confidence comes with practice, have a go, try and try, if you really want to learn something you can.. its just that occasionally it takes a bit longer …. eh John ????  ha ha

I am finding now I am expecting great things to come my way – they are and my confidence is being restored

So are you ready for your master to come along and teach you or are you going to actually find the master is YOU

Day 4 #100 days completed and more lessons learnt – thank you all
