Today on day 34 I think??? Who cares anyway, I am reflecting on the last few days.
The Wedding I spoke about on Saturday was indeed a day of love, especially from the weather which was forecast to be cloudy and storms, but nooo we enjoyed a fabulous sunny afternoon, sitting outside in the sun after the service at the most beautiful church in Halsall. St Cuthberts, a gorgeous proper church with stone and a real truth about what church is all about. Stain Glass windows and a spire, perfect stone arch at the entrance and a cobbled walk up to the doors. This church was the perfect place for two people to start their journey of married love.
The service was great too, the Grooms friends doing readings, with feeling and words chosen carefully to give food for thought.
One was a chapter from the Corinthians
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 New International Version (NIV)
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away
Hmmmmmmmmm – Love never Fails that’s my fav bit, because on Saturday I was talking about the Greatest Love of all. And if we find that love we will never fail, for whatever will happen we will love ourselves and that then reaches out to be able to love others.
The other reading was from Captain Correli’s Mandolin “What is love”
I particularly like the bit about when the blossom falls off the tree, and when it’s gone there are the roots, entwined and together, “It is inconceivable that you should part”
As if to say, hey the heady young love will die but then you are bonded in something stronger than “being in love” your are love ?
Simon turns and whispers to me “our blossom is still on ” !!! Wishful thinking I flipping thought… lol – Always ready to have a giggle and see the funny side, I said the blossom only grows once a year and our roots need a bit of weed and feed heee heee.
But love is a wonderful thing and here are young people starting their married life in a spectacularly beautiful way, they had thought about readings, their friends performed them like they too were Oscar winning Performers.
They delivered with love.
Huge gratitude for this wonder day of love, fabulous food.,music, sunshine and BOLLINGER….
which of course turned me into one of Pans People on the dance floor. All was well until I had a wardrobe malfunction… the little strap on my dress decided one of my funky moves was too much to and snapped leaving only will power holding up the top of the dress.
Anyway it was lovely and what’s the point of not dancing your heart out just to save your dress from breaking !!! Give me a broken dress any day.
So that was wedding, Sunday was Boats my other true love. Keeping it brief.. This was a fab day too. Boats everywhere, Boaty accessories, Sunshine, beer tent and musicians… A day of atmosphere and boaty goodness….
It made me see that I am part of a super friendly community now. Boaty people are special and I am one of them.
However…… I am now using law of attraction to upgrade my beautiful Amy Belle 40 ft cruiser stern to a 58 foot one !!! gotta keep moving..
Life waits for no one !!!
What’s more it’s a Monday today and in a week we have the Minds of Steel Meetup where I get to hear 5 great speakers… I feel pretty inspired already but wow I really can’t wait to be super powered up.
Keep moving, Keep loving, Keep happy.
Sending you Love from the heart
Happiness my friends and get some compassion for yourself going first. You are the most important person in your life.
Love and hugs
