Blog 88 – Now is the time to get a grip – GAG IT !!!

I am nearing the end of my challenge, the time has flown, it was a challenge that I had tried to do before and not been able to achieve it. This time is different, I had a few dippy days at the beginning, I felt like I had nothing to blog about but my perseverance has paid off. My habit is formed and I am now looking forward to writing.

I am taking my own advice…. (that makes a refreshing change !)

I am going to list all the things I want to do in my life

This list will also contain the things that I want to do with the house, we need to address certain things – like the size of the sinks, the radiators in the bathroom, the showers etc. Things that normally I would just live with but now I know that I don’t need to.

It’s time to get a grip!!!

What do you want to do, where do you want to go, what is it you really want to achieve? How do you want to feel?

I know that I want to de-clutter again. Moving house (over 15 months ago now) was a great opportunity to get rid of a load of stuff. But it’s creeping back in. I have to realise this about being human, we keep buying more things.

Ok Clothes I get that but how many hurricane lamps with candles does a home actually need?. I can see 11 from here? … Ok yes some of them were absolute bargains and were definitely not to be left in the TKMaxx Home store.

I have an ability to attract new things into my life.

Now I will expect to be able to clear out some stuff – even if it’s just to make way for new stuff.

A new rule (you know how I love the rules) – deal with junk mail Gill… Hellooooo earth to Gill, the junk mail can go straight in the re-cycle bin. I always think “that looks interesting, I’ll read that later” we all know that later never comes. “BIN IT”

I bought a great big cupboard so that I could have more kitchen storage – this is where I shove everything when someone is coming around. All the excess bits of paper I haven’t dealt with go straight in that beautiful hidey hole.

Gill – clear out your cupboard, you were meant to use it for a new set of pans !

All this self recognition is good. I am through this blog admitting my small and insignificant character flaws.

I look up, there’s a Red Admiral just landing on the purple flower on the Buddlea – I know why I am remiss at boring stuff. Nature is out there waiting for me to notice it. If I had stuck my head in a cupboard would I have seen that butterfly?

If I spend too much time indoors – would I be making myself Dizzy with a oversize wooley pulley on?

So Screw it let’s do it….

Which bit are we doing? The de-clutter or the wizzy circles in the woods? How can I fit in both?

Ok – let’s get a little compromise here. Let’s consider some Time Management.

By setting ourselves some goals we can look at on paper the things we have decided that we want to get done.

Tick them off as you do them – That’s my favourite bit (I love a bit of praise -even if it is self praise) Yay go me.

Give yourself a Trophy !!!

I’m going to revert back to a former blog where I did things 20 minutes at a time.. This week I’m going to do that. So that rather than bimble over the jobs, I attack them quickly and get more done. So that I’m not permanently doing chores – I mean the weather forecast is good for boating – and today I’m going back to The Open.

So my goals are set for this week. This is extra things other than the flipping million things already being done ….. Golden Trophy !!!

Clear out the cupboard.
Get rid of some clutter.
Tidy up generally (is that good enough or does it need to be specific?)

Ahhh heck.. don’t over think it. Just get up and do something.

I’m going to report back tomorrow on how many trophies I get today !!!!!!!
