Re-Invention is my new favourite word, along with forgive yourself and others…

I’m going to start this blog with the wonderful word Re-Invention, as a kind of life coach for the last 10 years I have realised that what most people want to do is change themselves and I have always done my work in a non-leading kind of way. Let the client decide.

However with my reflections over the last few weeks I have decided now to call myself a Re-Invention coach and I will lead the client – yes lead… I have had a revelation about re-invention !!!! All the R’s today.

And bear in mind this is only my opinion. But I would like to lead you into a good old self reflection…. be as easy with it as you can… but if you really feel like a good clear out, go for it.

I think that people just get totally fed up with the type of person they have carved themselves out to be.

Place to Live
Where to go on Holiday
Whether to change their hairstyle
Whether to move house or stay put
Whether to go trendy with their furniture
Bodies are never quite good enough
Always sick, physically or mentally
etc. etc.

Everyday big decisions are being made. Well we think they are big. But actually they are tiny.

We are tiny in this world, our stay here is tiny and we need to recognise (another fabulous R word) that we are Really (crikey there goes another) Important. (not an R word)

How we choose to be, maps out our journey. Yes, we make the choices!!!

Now here’s a reflection for you.

We are brilliant at multi tasking as humans, and I think because January 1st brings us a brand new year because that’s the date it’s set for we all go into massive make changes mode.

Self reflection 4

Let’s just reflect on why we make such a massive big deal about making our life changes on January 1st (or 2nd because we eat too much on New Years day? Carbs after all that champers????) hmmmmm … personally I think we just feel peaky in January, after the Christmas celebrations and New Year, our immune system is in great need of kindness. Maybe that should be the first reflection. Am I kind to my body?

When we start to look into our own hearts we find that we have a bigger and greater understanding of who we are, what we are about, we can gain a sense of real purpose.

Without real Self-Reflection we can wander aimlessly into the next trendy diet plan, the next get fit quick scheme, the next job, relationship, illness, etc.

Now I’m sitting here with the Flu, Simon had it before Christmas and it got worse and worse, he really couldn’t function and I was thinking hmmmmm, why not get up and shower “you’ll feel better” but he really knows his own body and his way of recovering is to stay in bed, not eat, have his maid bring him drinks and then after about 3 days he gets up. But this Flu this year is debilitating !!! I have literally crawled to my soup pan with garlic and ginger and stuff to try and get quickly back to good health.

I think my way worked quicker…. The day after the garlic soup I felt so much better.

I am reflecting on this, because when you are sick, you really need someone else to make you the soup. If you are really sick with disease, then the healing process must be looked into further. What we think is important. If we think we are sick we will be – so we have to believe in our healing process – thinking healing thoughts, “I am grateful for my healing” – If you have not read the Book The Secret Yet then that would be a good one to look at. I personally watch the film on Netflix – it’s good and I try and live by the guidelines of those clever people who understand it better than me. One thing is for sure that thinking better thoughts does really improve our physical state. Our brain is so clever…. anyway I digress back to Soup.

Now think about your life as a soup. You put all kinds of ingredients into it. Now imagine that all the ingredients are things that you choose?

There will always be a consequence to your choices… Always (but that is for another blog)

If we Reflect on what we are choosing to feed ourselves we can immediately see if we are selecting a healthy way to live.

We can easily see if we are keeping our minds clear of clutter. It can be a hard hitting thing at first, because we will have to face up to the fact that we have at some time been less than kind, less than happy, less healthy with all our choices.

The great news is that we can change this daily, hour by hour, minute by minute
if we want to.

None of us are perfect. No one has a perfect life. Everyone makes bad choices throughout their lives.

The beauty of Re-flection is to acknowledge that you have been a flipping idiot, not been kind enough, made errors, been a cow etc etc etc.

Then Forgive yourself – I forgive myself … for eating unhealthy food, for being a pig, for being unkind, for thinking negative thoughts, for feeling anxious when I saw someones facebook post, for feeling envy for another persons life, figure, face etc etc etc.

Then you say

“Hey Gill, you are totally forgiven, you have a clean sheet, a new start a fresh new day, a lovely clarity” all is forgiven give yourself a break

(obs change it to your name) but if you want to forgive me then I am grateful for that too.

Let’s leave it there for today. I know I’m not the best blogger in the world, and always there will be better and always there will be lesser than me. But I am Gill Fell and I am having a go at being better in every way.
